The origin of our company name:
The first Chinese character of the founder’s surname means ‘cedar’ in English, and the name of our company derives from the scientific name of this tree, Cryptomeria japonica.
The symbol mark combines motifs for the cedar tree and the initial C of Cryptomeria representing the moon.

Our thoughts regarding the moon:
For more than 1,300 years until 1872, Japanese life revolved around a lunisolar calendar.
In Japan, the moon is a beloved symbol of purity, and a revered and spiritual object that calms the mind.
Such is the fascination of the moon for the Japanese people that they have over 18 different names to refer to its various phases as it waxes and wanes over the course of a month, as well as four other names for its appearance as it changes over the course of a day.
